By train from the Paris, the quickest way is by express train or TGV.

High speed or TGV train journey times are as follows to:
  • Avignon - 4 hours
  • Nimes - 4 hours 18 mins
  • Marseille - 4 hours 29 mins
  • Montpellier - 4 hours 44 mins
  • Narbonne - 5 hours 50 mins
  • Perpignan - 6 hours 28 mins

By train from the UK, the quickest way is to avoid Paris and take Eurostar from London or Ashford to Lille, and then the onward by TGV.

By Road

Our walking tours in France that are labelled as 'Hiking' tours require a hire car - your own vehicle or a hire car. Rented vehicles can be collected from any location in France depending on your point of entry.

By Air

Flights from North America and outside Europe usually involve a change at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport or Orly Airport and a connecting flight south or a high-speed train/TGV from Paris - see TGV. It takes about four hours to Nimes by train or we are happy to arrange a hire car for you, from your point of arrival, if you prefer to take to the open road.
