Walking Holidays France: an Affordable Range

We firmly believe that we have selected the best walking holidays France has to offer. Our tours comprise your accommodation, breakfast, the finest of walking notes and comprehensive logistical support. You pay the hotels directly for any packed lunches and dinners you require, making the overall cost of your walking tour more affordable. Moreover, this makes our tours ideal walking for vegetarians and vegans. Detailed information on food options en route is contained in your hiking dossier, which you receive four weeks before your departure.

Under this rubric of Walking Holidays France 2009, we have chosen to place our range under four headings according to holiday length, the duration of each day’s walking and whether you need your own transport to get around from walk to walk or not. The latter is only a requirement on our tours that commence with the word ‘hiking.’ Otherwise, all-inclusive transport is provided.

These four categories are listed below. Clicking on each one will take you through to a list of available tours within that class. You can then click the relevant photo or tour title to go through to a full page devoted to that particular tour.

  1. Last-minute short breaks
  2. These are late availability tours that can be booked at very short notice. They are flexible 3 or 4 night stays and start and finish from Nimes, a city with direct access via low-cost international airline or high speed train/TGV. Collected from, and return to, Nimes, forms part of the package. Two of these tours are available all year round.

  3. One-week, full-day trekking tours or walking holidays
  4. These are inn-to-inn treks, where you change accommodation every day, or a mix of circular and linear walks, where you may stay for a couple of nights in the same hotel. Either way, the actual day’s walking lasts for the best part of the day.

  5. One-week rambling tours
  6. These options comprise light walking in the historic centres and the lesser-trodden peripheries of three towns and cities of high cultural repute. You travel between them by a mix of public (train only) and private transport.

  7. One-week, light-hiking tours
  8. These require a car: hire-car or your own car. Your hiking is half-day, mainly in the mornings, with afternoon options for touring by car or extra mini-hikes.

It is worth repeating here that all our walks in France are open to degrees of personalization, so please do not hesitate to contact us with any queries you might have in respect of the model programmes presented. We will be delighted to find the right solution for you or your group.
